Senior Microbiologist / Microbiology Supervisor

Laboratory.

• Perform routine microbiological testing on food and environmental samples
• Maintain and improve laboratory housekeeping and daily operations
• Ensure the quality of laboratory output and compliance with ISO 17025 quality management system
• Handle technical tasks and respond to technical inquiries from internal and external parties
• Prepare and review test results and reports
• Supervise small team(s) and provide technical training to assigned sub-teams
• Assist in reviewing food regulatory updates and provide recommendations
• Support development of food safety systems and quality control activities (e.g. ISO 22000, food labeling, compliance guidelines)
• 5-day work week; occasional work on public holidays may be required

• Experience working in accredited laboratories and familiarity with HOKLAS audit procedures
• Involvement in method validation, quality system maintenance, or regulatory research
• Master’s degree or above is an advantage

• Degree or above in microbiology, biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, food science, or related disciplines
• Candidates with current or former HOKLAS approved signatory status will be given strong preference and may be considered for higher rank and compensation
• For HOKLAS signatories, microbiology testing experience may be relaxed to 3 years, with supervisory duties adjusted accordingly
• For general applicants, minimum 4 years of microbiology laboratory experience and 2 years in a supervisory role preferred
• Solid knowledge of microbiological testing in food or pharmaceutical products is highly desirable
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and proactive
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Disciplined and punctual, with a strong learning mindset
