Food Process & Production Engineer / Superivsor

About the Role:
We are seeking a technically strong and experienced Food Process & Production Engineer to join our integrated food manufacturing facility. Our operations include ready-to-eat products (e.g. XO sauce, traditional Chinese soups, medicinal broths, and heritage recipes), a central kitchen, and bakery production lines. This role is pivotal in transforming experimental formulations into scalable production processes, optimizing production efficiency, and applying scientific and engineering principles to food processing.
 
Main Duties:
  • Lead the scale-up of new product formulations from lab to full-scale production, including heritage and functional food products
  • Apply advanced knowledge of food processing principles to design and optimize production workflows across multiple lines (sauces, soups, bakery)
  • Read and interpret scientific literature to support process innovation and technical problem-solving
  • Independently manage production line optimization projects, including planning, execution, and evaluation
  • Analyze production data using advanced tools to identify root causes of process deviations and implement corrective actions
  • Select appropriate food processing equipment and design efficient production systems
  • Develop and maintain quality control procedures in compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, and GMP standards
  • Collaborate with R&D, QA, supply chain, and production teams to ensure smooth product launches and continuous improvement
 
Candidates with experience in large-scale food companies (e.g. Maxim’s, Nissin, Lee Kum Kee) will be highly regarded, especially those familiar with flavor product development, production scale-up, and managing operations in expanding environments.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Food Science, Food Engineering, Food Processing Technology, or related disciplines (Master’s degree in Food Engineering, Bioengineering, or Quality Management is a strong advantage)
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in the food industry, with at least 3 years of independent project management experience
  • Proven track record in scaling up new products from R&D to mass production
  • Strong expertise in food processing principles, equipment selection, and process design
  • Proficient in data analysis tools such as advanced Excel, SPSS, Minitab, or Python
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply scientific research to production challenges
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin; basic English communication
  • Strong written Chinese skills
  • Good command of office software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
